This and that

Grandma was so bad, taking baby boy into the pool for his very first swim. Grandpa is looking on and daughter was anxiously watching poolside to ensure baby was safe. (What could be safer than a baby in a grandma's arms?) Baby boy is now two months old and is growing by leaps and bounds. He's a very sweet baby and we love him very much just like we love our granddaughters.

Daughter + 3 spent last Wednesday through Saturday morning at our house. A very good time was had by all. We swam, we baked cookies, we made lasagna, we ate, we watched movies, we played games, we worked puzzles, we talked, we laughed, we watched videos of the kids at play, and we generally had a very good time. Thank you daughter and grandchildren for coming to visit. We enjoyed spending time with you.

On a sad note, Sandy and her gang were unable to visit this time as planned because nephew Brian was hospitalized for several days. We are very happy that he's feeling much better and is now at home recuperating. We hope to see them all very soon. We missed them so much.

Husband and I have been busy with our solar heater project. Phase II looks like this:

We installed edging and mulch consisting of shredded tires dyed red (I guess to look like cypress mulch). We are short several bags and will be going back this afternoon to get the rest of what we need. Did I mention previously that this project was turning into a money pit? I can see the end of Phase II is near but I fear Phase III will really be expensive. We plan to build a shelf for storage and enclose the whole thing with lattice panels. Hopefully we will have this completed very shortly so we can go on to other outdoor projects.

We are off tomorrow to attend Dancer Girl's sixth birthday party. Daughter is having the party at her local pizza joint which boasts a play room for the kiddies. Should be a lot of fun for everyone.

Happy birthday, Dancer Girl

He's growing so! He looks like he's enjoying the pool (and
Grandma too!)
I know all about money pit projects, we've got one going on right here! It's like a snowball that takes on a life of it's on going downhill!
Happy 6th birthday to Dancer Girl. Enjoy the pizza party!

Hope your nephew is all better now! Perhaps they'll all be able to visit soon. I'm glad you had a good time with your grandkids, though! The baby is getting so big!

Little sister in the photo is doing Dolphin kicks (upside down butterfly kicks) in the pool, She is arching her back and driving her legs which creates a great wake. We didn't have time to remove grandson's clothes. Grandma just got him and wet him; so much fun. In these photos Kitten Yarn was taking the pictures.

Those pictures are great, Grandma. He sure is growing and looks wonderful. The other kids also are having such a good time with grandma and grandpa.

Motherkitty, I think you have the biggest above ground pool I have ever seen. I am jealous!

Have a good time at the birthday party....:)

The baby was certainly safe in the loving arms of grandma. He looks so content and happy. He's really growing and is such a cute baby...just like his big sisters.

Wish we could have been there to enjoy in all the fun, but maybe another time. The solar project is coming right along I see and sounds like it is keeping you very busy.

That pool looks very inviting - but not in our winter! He's a cute little fellow, without a care in the world in Grandma's arms.

I hope your knee if fully recovered now and taking you everywhere you want to go.

The pictures in the pool look so refreshing. I only wish it wasn't so hot out...no riding for me these last few weeks...it's much too hot.

How late I am with my comment, but that little one is gorgeous! I'll bet he enjoyed the swim. Grandmas know these things. I know you had a great time with the kids there to visit. Sure brings life to your household, doesn't it? I love it when the kids come for a few days..

I'm so glad you had your daughter and the little ones for 4 days. What fun! The little guy must've loved having his first swim...especially in Grandma's arms...safe and sound for sure :)
Your project is keeping you busy! I'm sure the warm water is worth it.
A very happy birthday to Dancer girl! I hope it was a great party.
