Hello to all my friends out there!

Please excuse the long delay in my posting anything since my surgery. (Also, excuse any typos -- can't seem to make my fingers do anything I want.)

I am writing through a drug-infused fog so none of this may make any sense. I am getting better each day although it seems that each day brings a new and different set of issues. I was finally able to get into the shower today -- what joy, what pleasure, what a relief to sit under a shower of hot water and not wash out of a bathroom sink. My doctor removed the staples on Friday and the incision looks great -- no gapping or bleeding. I still have a lot of swelling and stiffness though. Am still on Coumadin and noticed a large bruise on the back of my right calf. I go in for a venous doppler study tomorrow to see if I have formed any blood clots. Also have lab drawn twice a week and am starting on OP physical therapy three days a week and must exercise at home.

Right now all I want to do is sleep which I don't think is too unusual. I get tired with the least amount of exertion so you can imagine what I feel like when I get home from PT.

I would like to thank all my blog friends and everyone else who have sent e-mails, called, posted comments and generally inquired about my progress. You are all so special and I miss "talking to you" on a daily basis. Hopefully I will get to spend more time online each day. I will try to catch up on everyone's blogs pretty soon.

This has exhausted me so I'm off to bed. Thank goodness for husband who has been an angel. We spent a week trying to communicate during the night by calling out, but we finally got smart. I now call him on his cell phone when I want him and he comes right away. Do you think this will work after I get better?

Yay, Motherkitty, you're back! It's so good to hear from you, and to hear that you're coming along OK.

It sounds like your hubby has been absolutely wonderful. It is just as you deserve, though, because I know you are forever thinking of and looking after others in their times of need.

So dear, semi-bionic Motherkitty, welcome back to blogland! We MISSED you!

It's so nice to have you back, and I think your hubby will always respond to you anyway you choose to call him.

It was really nice talking to you today...I feel better now, knowing that you are slowly improving...remember you have all the time in the world, so just do your PT at home and they will do theirs at the hospital. Two weeks is already behind you and before long it will be summer and you will be swimming around in your pool.
Take care and know that we all missed you very much.
Love & Hugs,
Sandy :)

Hellooooo Kitty! So lovely to hear that you're improving, albeit slowly. Sandy left a note on my blog to let me know you posted. That was sweet of her.
Your hubby has been wonderful by the sound of things. Take your time, rest, and get better. Don't fret about posting...there'll be plenty of time for that later, and we know you have a lot of healing to do.
I'll keep you in my prayers.

So glad you are back and glad to hear you are doing so good. We have been thinking about you and getting info from Sandy.
I am sorry I couldn't send you a ecard or anything but our computer has been down ever since you had surgery. What I hated the most was we lost all of our personal stuff on our hard drive and Papa Bear is going to try to find out how to get this back but we do have a computer now and I am glad.

Just wanted to say hi and to tell you we are glad you are doing so good. Take care.

Mama Bear

So glad you felt like posting - but don't over do it. PT and rest. I am sure your husband would come to you what ever you called him.

They say in 21 days, a habit is formed. So, do you think you can be needy for 21 days?!!!

Welcome back to the world. It sounds like all went as planned, just keep up the good work and exercise. "When I want him he comes right away. Do you think this will work after I get better?" Good luck with that!

Glad that you are "back on the blog" and on the mend. We have missed your postings. Hope you are up and around again soon! It is great that your family is so supportive. I pity the people who have disabilties and no one to help them.

Oh MK, it's good to know you are blogging again even if just every now and then. I have to ask, why are they doing the doppler looking for clots? Is there some reason why they think they need to do that, or does your OS just have them done at this stage in recovery?

I know what you are going through with PT but just hang in there. Once you reach your goal it will be smooth sailing. I'm very happy you have such a good husband to help you. I was on my own except for the nurse coming 6 hrs. a week to help..My Son also helped when he could but he works full time and has his own family..I was once stuck in the recliner for 14 hrs. I didn't know I couldn't get out of it, once in. I had to wait until the next morning when my nurses aid got there to help me get out. I didn't make that mistake again. I bought an electric lift chair.

Wishing you well and Praying for a quick recovery. Rest and relax when you can!

Good to have you back blogging! You've been in my thoughts every single day, and I'm glad to hear you're on your way to a good recovery.

That's too funny about using the cell phone. Admittedly, I've done that too, but my excuse was that I didn't want to yell and wake the kids. :) Sometimes I use the baby monitor too.

Anyway, get plenty of rest. You've been missed!

Motherkitty, are you OK? I come here every day to see if you've returned to blogging. So don't think for a moment that you're not missed.

When you're ready to blog again, it will be a very happy day for all your blogfans! You may be temporarily gone, but you are most definitely NOT forgotten!

Hope you're healing well, and feeling better every day.

Fond regards,
Jelly

Mm. I'm glad you're all right. Surgery is no fun. As for Uncle Dennis, it's amusing to see the progress of technology. You know, cell phones instead of those little bells. Anywho, get well soon!

Kitty, just want to let you know I'm thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. I hope your pain has receded and that your recovery is going well. I think of you when I'm out in the garden and hope that you'll soon be well and agile enough to get out into your own garden. Isn't the warm sunshine beautiful? I'm loving the Garden Hopper. It works great! Hope all is well and that you're mending the way you should be. We miss you!
